Luben Dimcheff is a principal at Dimcheff Smith Studio, based in New York City.He has worked at NBBJ in Seattle and KPF in New York, before joining Smith-Miller + Hawkinson Architects, where he was a Senior Associate. During his 10+ years at SMH Luben Dimcheff was the design architect for a SoHo penthouse and a Brooklyn Heights apartment building - both recognized for design merit by the NYC Landmarks Commission; He was the project architect for the SMH house at the much acclaimed development Houses at Sagaponac in Southampton and the senior designer for the Hospital for Special Surgery new building on Manhattan's East Side waterfront, which received an award from Mayor Bloomberg and The NYC Design Commission. As principal at Dimcheff Smith Studio, Luben recently completed a full renovation of an Edwardian townhouse in San Francisco and currently oversees the design for a 650m2 residence in Mumbai, design development of two houses in Sofia and a conceptual branding strategy for a restaurant venture in Rio de Janeiro. The Studio has three projects under construction in New York City. In addition to his practice, Luben Dimcheff is dedicated to academic work and is on the faculty of Parsons The New School for Design. He is currently a Visiting Critic at Cornell AAP, where he teaches a Core Design Studio in Architecture.Luben Dimcheff received his professional degree in architecture from Cornell University and graduated with honors from the Art Institute of Seattle, where he studied fashion and interior design.
