    Part-time Assistant Professor

    Profile:

    Chao Yang Yan is a graphic and textile artist with over 25 years of working experience in the fashion industry with clients including Victoria Secret’s Pink, VSX, Calvin Klein, Express, Nautica Competition, Fashion Group International, Geoffrey Beene and Pepe Jeans.

    In his 18 years working in New York fashion community, Chao has culled his talent as a fashion illustrator, CAD artist, web designer and product/multimedia developer. His experience in the Chinese garment industry included costume design and production for the Chinese film industry as well as knitwear, outerwear and uniforms.

    As a teacher, Chao’s focus is on developing student’s design philosophy and aesthetic by exploring the melding of digital and traditional fine art disciplines. Chao has been sharing his expertise and talents as a faculty member since spring 2001.
