  • Christopher (alias Mustafa) is a multi-disciplinary designer an educator spanning the fields of urban planning, architecture, multimedia, product and environmental design. Currently Mustafa is principal at NEWWORK, an urban development company based in the New York and Newark, NJ with international offices in Beijing and Dubai and recent master planning and development projects in China, South Korea, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Egypt and Pakistan. Prior to co-forming NEWWORK, Mustafa was a consultant on several ground breaking new media projects including a media wall visualizing real-time 3-D stock market data for Goldman Sachs, an operating system interface for the New York Stock Exchange and a Crisis Management Information Visualization Platform "New York Action Alert Network" an applied academic project for the City of New York. Previous to moving to NYC in 1995, Mustafa worked in several renowned international design offices including Sottsass Associati in Milan, Fitch and Company in London and Machado and Silvetti Architects in Boston. Since 1996 he has continuously taught part-time in three departments at The New School / Parsons The New School for Design and has been visiting faculty at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and The Boston Architectural Center and guest lecturer in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He received his undergraduate degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design and performed graduate studies at the MIT Center for Advanced Visual Studies and The Media Lab.
