Learn about the five most important trends shaping the built environment, and how architects and interior designers are responding. This course identifies social and demographic trends that are impacting on architecture and interior design in the worlds industrialized societies, and are behind some of the most exciting innovations in home design today. The social and demographic trends to be examined in this course include: The Home Office, Home Health-Care, Divorce/Remarriage, Kids Who Dont Leave Home and The Graying of America. The course will also make cross cultural and international comparisons of home design in response to these trends. Pathway: Spatial Design Studies
