New York Trend Spotting

This course focuses on fashion and trend forecasting in NYC and beyond. Through lectures, blogging, and weekly field assignments students will explore methodologies of trend spotting; means of locating & noticing trends; gathering trend data & ways to sift through multitudes of trend data & identify prevalent trends; fashion neighborhoods; color forecasting; direction of fashion change; consumer segmenting based on trend acceptance and how to give sound trend presentations and the skills required to do so.Open to: AFM majors; non-majors with permission
