This course will survey the psychoanalytic literature on such conditions as narcissistic personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, psychosomatosis, concreteness, and some forms of psychosis. The aim is to introduce students to various theories of ego development, object relations, and post-Freudian views of psychic structure developed to understand these conditions.
