This course examines what it might
mean to constitute a revolutionary government.
Questions to be addressed include: How to analyze the complexity of
revolutionary possibility? How to sustain mobilizations and mass movements that
seek a radical transformation of capitalism? How to organize a state with the
ultimate aim of its withering away?
Readings will include texts by Rousseau; Marx; Luxemburg; Lenin; Mao;
Arendt; Badiou; and Balibar.
