In this course, we will discuss the early modern 'scientific revolution' and its philosophical background, which allowed for a radical change in our understanding of the world and our place in it. Texts to be discussedinclude works of Kepler, Galileo, Descartes, Leibniz, and Newton, as well as some recent critical readings of them in Feyerabend, Kuhn, and Blumenberg.
