The course is an advanced survey of the field of comparative politics. We analyze important scholarly works on politics and government in countries in the Western and non-Western, 'developed' and 'developing' world. Each week of the course focuses on a specific topic and/or theoretical approach.
The course is intended for Ph.D. students who plan to write dissertations in comparative politics and for students preparing for qualifying exams.
