The writings of Karl Marx inaugurated radical reworkings of both social theory and political action. Beginning with some of his seminal writings on capitalism and political economy we will move on to consider further elaborations of Marxist thought in the Frankfurt School, British labor theory, and postcolonial theory. In particular, we will use a close reading of Marx as a entry-way for understanding forms of economy and subjectivity produced through the aporias of late capitalism. |
