The course is an advanced survey of the field of comparative politics. We analyze important scholarly works on politics and government in advanced democracies, developing countries, and dictatorships, among others. Each week of the course focuses on a specific topic and/or theoretical approach. The course is intended for Ph.D. students who plan to write dissertations in comparative politics and for students preparing for qualifying exams.
