The
Registration Office registers students for classes, charges tuition
and fees, and processes course changes and withdrawals. Information
regarding the specific hours for registration is distributed to
all students prior to the registration period.
During
registration, student advisors from each department are available
for consultation with students. Students must confer with their
student advisor in person or via email before completing registration.
An advisor’s written approval is required for all course registrations.
Registration must be completed during the registration period. Registration
procedures are mailed to new students in advance of registration
and explained during The New School for Social Research orientation
scheduled at the beginning of each semester. Continuing students
register online during April and May for the fall semester, and
during November for the spring semester.
The
Bursar’s Office will mail a schedule of classes and an invoice for
tuition and fees. Students should verify the accuracy of the schedule.
A student is not registered for, and will not receive credit for,
courses not appearing on the schedule.
Registration
is not complete until payment or payment arrangements have been
made. Students who do not register and complete payment arrangements
by the deadline will incur a $150 late fee. The deadlines for completing
registration will not be extended because of delays in clearing
registration holds. For more information, contact the Office
of University Registration.
